Elena Zaniboni,
was born in Alessandria, Italy. She first performed in
public at the age of 7, graduated at the age of 16 and
carries out her advanced studies whit Clelia Gatti
Aldrovandi e Nicanor Zabaleta.
A concert harpist of international fame, she has won many
prestigious contests and has given concerts all over the
world: from the May festival in Florence to the Schönbrunn
Palace in Vienna, from the San Carlo Theatre in Naples
to the Philarmonica Orchestra in katowice, from the Santa
Cecilia Academy in Rome, to the Fenice Theatre in Venice,
from the Schönberg Hall in Los Angeles to the Wigmore
Hall in London, just to mention a few.
Her carrer includes solo Harp recitals at La
Scala in Milan and at the
Carnegie Hall in New York.
She performed the Mozart Concerto K299
at the Mozarteum di Salisburgo and
also gave many first performances such as Bussotti's
“Fragmentations” for solist
on two Harps
Her exceptionally large repertorie goes from the origins
to the most daring expressions of contemporany harp music.
Guest at several festivals and at Tv programs (recently at Superquark), as many as 22 compositors
have written works especially for her. She teaches in
the advanced courses of Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome
and records for the Fonit Cetra, Edi-Pan, Frequenz and
Xenam Music Labels.
Among music encyclopaedias she is in the Grove, in the
Utet, in the Agostini, in the Garzantina, in the Who's
Who in Italy and in the Rizzoli Larousse encyclopedic dictionary.
